CAPABILITY STATEMENT

HISTORY
Mick Fabar Constructions (MFC) has a long history in the construction industry. Over fifteen years as a qualified builder and over ten years trading and contracting on numerous residential and commercial constructions. MFC understands the needs and concerns of our clients, specifically commercial challenges when construction work is undertaken in a functioning facility.

We understand the importance of efficient project management including quality of workmanship, time constraints and delivery schedules, meeting budget, and allowing the existing business to trade with no or low level interruption whilst works are undertaken.

PAST COMMERCIAL WORKS
We have undertaken a number of landmark commercial developments in the Orange region including:
• DeRussie Hotel
• Orange Ex-Services Club (major design/construct works)
• McDonalds Orange (capital works and maintenance contracts)
• Hotel Orange refurbishment
• Mazda Showrooms
• Penhalls Crematorium and Funeral Home (National Award Winning)
• National Award Winning 8 star Sustainable Display Homes

Many of these works were undertaking whilst it was necessary for businesses to remain fully operational with little or no disturbance to trade. All of our projects run on time and on budget.

All of our developments have been unique in scope, allowing MFC to offer a diverse range of experience in new constructions and alterations - unmatched by any other company in the area.

MFC offers our clients the following services:

SAFETY
Our safety record is faultless. We place paramount importance on workplace safety
for our staff and contractors, and our clients and their visitors whilst we undertake works
On their premises. We have an accredited OH&S policy and develop site-specific policies
for commercial projects to ensure safety remains key to all projects, and prospective
risks are minimized. Mick Fabar Constructions has the following policies;

APPROACH
We do not believe in over-committing our resources and setting longer than necessary construction schedules to allow for many projects to be undertaken in parallel.

Our time frames are taut, but realistic. These time frames can only successfully be delivered through our capable project management team, and our thorough project management systems.

Our management team has a strong focus on relationships – a significant amount of time is spent with our clients before, during and after construction to ensure all key stakeholders have a thorough and mutual understanding of the total project management approach and expected outcomes.

SUSTAINABILITY
Mick Fabar was the first builder in the region to qualify as a GreenSmart accredited builder. MFC has constructed the only GreenSmart accredited display homes in regional NSW – which were selected by HIA as benchmark developments to showcase at the 2008 Home Show in Darling Harbour.

Mick Fabar has been nominated as National GreenSmart Builder of the Year in 2009.

Our green program has allowed us to offer clients sustainable commercial design and construction options wherever possible, saving water, power, costs and helping reduce our impact on the environment.

Our green designs incorporate:
•  sustainable design principals to allow passive heating/cooling
•  natural ventilation
•  solar energy solutions
•  energy efficient inclusions
•  water saving and recycling solutions including rainwater harvesting

We stay abreast of new and improved products as they come to market. MFC ensures we select and offer clients the latest quality materials and inclusions that are best suited to each project, and achieve the greatest value for money for our clients’ capital investment.
